Your 2-day desert tour from Marrakech starts right at your riad or hotel. Early in the morning, our guide and driver will pick you up to begin the journey. We’ll travel through the Tizi N’Tichka pass in the High Atlas Mountains. Along the way, you’ll have stops to enjoy and photograph the views of Berber villages and scenic landscapes.
Our next stop is the famous ksar of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1986. This fortified village has appeared in several films, including Lawrence of Arabia, The Mummy, and Prince of Persia.
The journey continues to Taourirt Kasbah in Ouarzazate, a well-known location in Morocco. As we make our way through, you’ll also see the Valley of Roses and Skoura Palm Grove. We will stop for lunch in Tinghir.
In the afternoon, we pass through the “Road of a Thousand Kasbahs.” We reach the Merzouga desert, where we’ll embark on a camel ride to explore the Erg Chebbi dunes and enjoy a stunning sunset over the Sahara.
Day one ends at a Berber desert camp where you’ll be welcomed with mint tea. Relax and enjoy a traditional dinner with nomadic drumming around a campfire. Spend the night in a berber tent under the desert stars.
Wake up early to experience the breathtaking sunrise over the Sahara. After exploring the dunes near the camp, enjoy breakfast and prepare for the return journey. We’ll start with a camel ride back to meet our driver and can switch to a 4WD vehicle if preferred.
Our journey back to Marrakech takes us through Todra Gorge and Dades Valley. This region is known for its lively date markets and lush oases filled with palm trees. We’ll make several stops to enjoy the surrounding landscape.
